But the case was that he came in way later in the show. So I was going through certain changes and I think it started somewhere around 2020, end of 2020. My sleep was improper, I could not sleep, and my brain was constantly working. I don’t know if you can relate to this, but if you are just in bed and you have a cluttered mind and there is no peace. This used to go on for a while, I have never had acne issues in my life. Yet, I was dealing with hormonal changes with major acne breakouts.”

She further added, “I was weirdly losing weight irrespective of my nutrition. I had heavy chumps for instance. So by February 2021, I realised something was not right and perhaps I should get it checked. So I went in, and I had a month-long test with my gynaecologist. I was shooting as well during that period. After everything, it was my gynaecologist who pointed out that you need a psychiatrist, and that I was physically fine. And my gynac referred me to a psychiatrist at Kokilaben Hospital.”

In the same interview, when asked about how the actor had a difficult time during COVID-19. The Bigg Boss 16 contestant said, “This was during the second wave of COVID-19, there were no beds for patients. But I was lucky that I had a great doctor, who saw me and if I could say how shitty f a space I was in. he told me that you need to call your family right now, you are exhausted. You are mentally exhausted. And this exhaustion was caused because I had no time to sleep, I think I was leading a very robotic life, I have no one else to blame but me. I wish I was strong enough to make certain stern decisions for myself.”

Adding further about shoot and work balance. Ahluwalia mentioned, “If I have to pack up in 12 hours I have to pack up in 12. If you’re doing a 14-hour shoot, I have to be prepared for a 12-hour thing. Like I need to prepare, you cannot expect me to work until 2 am and come in for a 7 am shoot. I think you should know how to strike a balance between everything in life and I feel that comes with maturity.”

But the hospital ensured that I got a bed because of how pathetic of a condition I was in. It was a bad case of burnout anxiety. So then my mum came in, and we flew back to Delhi. I went to Fortis Hospital’s mental ward, where I was treated by a very senior. I was under this amazing doctor’s wings. And this is when the entire journey to become better started. Then I started with my therapy And I had to be on antidepressants.”

Nimrrit concluded, “For this, I must say I’m grateful for my production house and the channel, that they made sure that even for 40 days I skipped work. They were like we will wait. They even got alternative replacements for the part, but they were very clear in terms of wanting me back on the show. Because of COVID, everyone was working from different locations, some from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Hyderabad. The team flew to Delhi, we shot over there and after that, the story took a leap.”
